I recently got engaged to my man. Yes, I am single...a single mother, to be exact. Same goes to my fiance, a single father...both with 'baggage'. Much earlier, I and hubs had plan that no engagement shall take place in our relationship. That was all due to the hustle and bustle of the prep, as well as the negative 'challenges' that only increases at that period of being engaged. And being a Malay (a culture with many 'believes' from the ancestors), guarantees that that is NOT a myth!! Been there, done that!! Anyhow, negativity aside, I'm glad that we both took a step further in this very special 'unexpected' relationship. Certainly, we're so looking forward to January 2012...

Well, finally got my BlackBerry 9900 a.k.a Bold 4 (given by hubs as a birthday present). Before BlackBerry came into my life, I've always been oh-so-loyal to my iPhone 3G (which obviously does not exist anymore at any Apple outlet!). Remembering my first Berry, twas the BlackBerry 9780 a.k.a Bold 2, (also a gift, but from a dear friend). Everyone was so puzzled on why I wanted a Berry so much, though I knew I had only one reason. Which, was the BBM Application!! My God, the fact that I can send anything and everything (somewhat works like a bluetooth and a chatroom at the same time) everywhere I go and without any extra chargers, beats it all! Okay okaaayy, I lied (bout the reason, I mean)! *lol* The honest truth is...I saw Warrick Brown (real name Gary Dourdan) used a Berry in a few episodes of CSI Las Vegas. I am head-over-heels for him!! He's like THE hottest African-American actor I've ever known (well, aside from Taye Diggs & Shemar Moore that is)!! Oh hubs, if you're reading this...you're STILL & WILL ALWAYS be my numero uno (*lol* with a serious face)!! So yeah...thank you so much to my sweetheart for the awesome birthday gift. Now I'll be carrying you everywhere I go, baby...literally!! *smiles*

Oh, apart from the phone, I also got a set of princess-cut diamond stud earrings from my darling pet-sister; Suzyra. And it's definitely one of my favourite studs now!! ~XOXOX~

Alhamdulillah for having to live another year.. And this year, 'usual' shall be the word I'd use to translate my birthday. As anyone would've felt all excited, over-joyed etc... I on the other hand, felt it was just like every other day. Nothing out of the ordinary. Happy, yes...but not excited.

But those 'usual' feelings changed when hubster asked me out for our usual lunch near the office. Waited and waited, and just as I looked over my shoulder...there he was. With a pretty big bouquet in one hand, and a cake in the other!! Okay okay, I'll admit that my jaw literally dropped...and I couldn't stop laughing. Couldn't stop laughing for the way he tricked me!! Knowing how strict his office is, it's ridiculous that he could find time to be out for even 5 minutes! *lol* He was only like a few minutes late than the usual, yet there he was standing in front of me with my surprises.

The yummyness Red Velvet cake from Whisk, and that pretty bouquet from Bloom The Floral Shop, you can get it all at Empire Shopping Gallery. Thank you so much to my sweetheart Rozailan for making it very, very special, and ended the day with a mouthful dinner at Chili's!! A very simple, but sweet 1st time birthday celebration with my hubs that I'll always remember. And as I've always said it; A year older, but non the wiser!! ~XOXOX~

Singapore In A Rush...

Singapore!! Hhmmm, it's been a while since I last visited the city...or those relatives I have on that island, for that matter. When my sweetheart told me he was to be in Singapore for a business trip over the weekend, I jumped for joy!! Though i wasn't asked to tag along at first, but after much praising and sweet talking, I got my tickets!! But oh well, I just had to travel there alone via Air Asia on Friday noon, as hubster's flight was the first one that morning and he had to attend some business meetings straight after he landed.

Though this was a last minute trip, we managed to get a nice hotel in the city (and again, through AGODA). It was the Value Hotel Thomson on Balestier Road. It'll take 5 minutes by cab to the nearest MRT station; Novena. And the hotel is also near to the main road, which makes it so easy to fetch a cab or even a bus!

The day of arrival, we didn't really go anywhere cause it was already bout 3pm. Went straight to the hotel, and got some rest. As I've earlier told a friend (whom is the Attache Officer of Immigration at the Malaysian Consulate) that I'd be coming with my other half, she offered to take us out dinner at Novena Food Court. 'Food Court' might not sound fancy to you, but OMG(!!) the variety of foods there; EXCELLENT!! From Mamak food to Malay, Chinese to Western!! You may order almost anything there. Even seafood (which were our choice for the night)! And the taste, oh trust me when I say that it tasted much better than in those restaurants in posh hotels! SWEAR!

The next day...the most interesting of all 3 days!! It was all about SHOPPING! As we were in town during The Great Singapore Sale, it was pretty pack. Basically, we went everywhere...from Sephora, to Gucci!! Nuff said!! Shopping in Singapore is somehow a sort of theraphy (only during SALE i mean). Cause claiming for your cash back before you leave the country, WILL put a smile back on your face!! Haha...This is how GST in Singapore works! *wink*

Our final day in Singapore was spent looking for souvenirs. Everyone knows that in Singapore, there's only one awesome place for that...Mustafa Centre. Key chains, fridge magnets, shirts, statue miniatures, everything IS there! Then, we rushed off to Vivo City which spans along Singapore's HarbourFront...which also leads us to Sentosa Island & Universal Studios. Enjoy the rides, the souvenir stores etc, but DO NOT miss Garrett's Gourmet Popcorn!! When it's chosen as one of Oprah Winfrey's favourite things 2010, it's worth every cents of it!!

Well then, there are still many new spots for me to visit in Singapore. So, I promise to be back...hopefully in time for the famous Christmas Sale!! See ya around... p/s: If you're ever in Raffles City, get some to-die-for chocolates at the Chocolate Research Facility! ~XOXOX~

Can't believe that one of my BFF got married recently! She weds her hotness boy Damak in a glam yet humble ceremony. The two had their akad nikah at Nadia's house in Petaling Jaya. Nadia, clad in a heavily beaded traditional kurung modern from Qudyn Kuala Lumpur looked very stunning and demure. As for her reception in the extravagant ballroom of Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, the (also) heavily beaded dress was by Indah Reka in Bangsar Shopping Center. The grey dress was all full with beads and sequins of all sorts. Though the pattern is unique, I personally think that the dress should be tighter. But perhaps Nadia was all comfortable in it. And the couple had oyster shaped paper weight with a pearl in it as wedding favours. To Nadia & Damak, may your holy matrimony be a promise you both cherish for the rest of your lives. My ex-schoolmate; the multi-talented Dynas had invited us for a pot-luck lunch at her crib few weekends back. Twas a small gathering of us girls that has been friends way back since we were seven!! Some even since kindergarten! Only six of us could make it there, and we were served by some belly-growling foods; cream caramel pudding, chocolate cake and spaghetti carbonara, etc!! We chit-chatted, joked, and of course, spill the latest gossips around before heading home later in the afternoon. All over, it was good to be around us girls after all these years that we've gone through together. May the friendship remains... ~XOXOX~

Weehooooo....So Bali was the lucky pick for my first holiday of 2011!! Went with a bunch of mates and the sweetheart. It was not meant to be a posh holiday cause all of us wanted to stay longer for this trip. So getting a budget hotel was some task, but thanks to AGODA (and the sweetheart!) we managed to get our bed & breakfast! *lol*

As most of us got a good deal at Tune Hotel in Kuta. But I instead, stayed at Ida Hotel which was just an alley away from Tune. Definitely got a good deal out of it...our offer was a 'stay 3 nights, get the 4th one for free'! It ain't that expensive also, just 'bout US$10 (per-night) more than Tune. Trust me, it's a VERY good bargain!! With a cosy atmosphere, big room, nice swimming pool & jacuzzi that opens till bout 11pm, massage service by the pool, and friendly staff, you'll definitely enjoy the stay!

Since you're already in Bali, be sure to visit the MUST SEE places such as the infamous Kuta Beach, Kintamani Banur Volcano (where you can have lunch outdoor overlooking the green scenery & volcano!), Tanah Lot (Balinese Hindu Temple On The Rock! Also check out if you're lucky to be there during 'Kuningan' which is a Balinese Hindu holiday celebrated after Galungan Day), etc. The surreal Kechak Dance in Uluwatu and Barong Dance are compulsory for watch. Btw, drop by the Hard Rock Hotel somewhere along Kuta Beach for some nice snapshots! And for you lovers/honeymooners (even those on wedding anniversaries!) invest some cash for you and your other half on a romantic sunset dinner in Jimbaran!! You'll definitely be getting your 'sumthin'-sumthin' when you get back to your room!! *grin*

Souvenirs? Be sure NOT to shop in Kuta as it is unbelievably expensive. But if you really, really, really have to, make sure you bargain at least 60% off the stated price. Seriously!! If you decided to go on tour outside Kuta, ask your guide/supir (that's 'driver' in Bahasa Indonesia) for those souvenir shops/center along the suburbs! There's always one somewhere!

It's the finale!! This year, I and the girls decided to have our 'Secret Santa' dinner at Ecoba Restaurants & Bar in Damansara Perdana. And coincidentally, after much hassle on setting the date...dinner falls on Christmas!! A double bonus for all of us!! Great company, tasty foods & juices, and AWESOME music & crowd. Party was sponsored by Carlsberg (Oh sorry mom & dad, but I ain't gonna lie) and as you'd probably guessed it, free flow of booze for those who drinks! We exchanged our surprise gifts, and partied till late...(a clean party, for the record!). Anyways, wishing all of my Christian friends a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!! ~XOXOX~

It's another celebration this year. Azalea Eiman Putri turns four last August 23. And unfortunately, no party for the lil' one (again) this year as it falls on Ramadhan (the fasting month). So, I'm a year older last June 30...and am a lil' more wiser, too! Hahaaa... Somehow this year, didn't feel like I needed a big celebration whatsoever. Maybe I am, getting old-er! *LOL* Still, we (myself and the family) went to have a decent dinner at Las Vacas in Kelana Jaya. It's not so glamorous, but they do serve fresh yummy steaks!! We had a private dinner cum party at Carlos' Canteena in Pavilion, KL last night. Zoo!! Zoo!! Zoo!! =) The lil' princess was all so excited. Due to our many planned trips throughout the year, I and hubby couldn't take Putri to any other exciting zoo like the Singapore Zoo, or the San Diego Zoo.. So, Putri had to settle with Zoo Negara (The National Zoo) in Kuala Lumpur.

Well, honestly, the zoo is in a much, much, much better condition than two years ago!! Lesser smell for sure, fatter animals, and..eerrrr...eerrr... I really don't know what is there more to praise. For the negativity, I'll let you guys decide for yourself when you're there!!

So anyways, after a sweaty trip there, we all had our tummies filled with the fajitas, NY strip steak, and the nachos in Hard Rock Cafe!! THAT, was the icing of the day... ~XOXOX~

Baby Putri is so attached to the family that she (and mommy me!!) goes to their house almost every single night!! Sometimes I felt embarrassed when she made their house like it was all HERS!!! *sigh*... Well, she's a bratty after all!! And every time she's there, she refuse to leave. Assalamualaikum... For this post, it's a bit different. It's not about having coffee, going for parties, or nor is it about going for a swim at a hotel. It about the world (literally).. Just a little something for us to think about, and do something about it soon after. So here goes....

Every single morning, I'd have my breakfast at the office. Either feasting to a plate of nasi lemak, a bowl of noodles, or a piece of bread. Just like daddy, a newspaper would accompany me at the table. Lately, I lost my appetite... Why?? Well, I'm sure we've all seen the pictures i uploaded above? How did you feel when you saw them the first time? Sad? Heart-broken? Disgusted by the devilish Israel? That's how I personally felt..or should I say ,I still feel that way..

I'm a mother to a beautiful 3 year-old princess. That's about the age of those kids killed shown in the pictures. You actually don't have to be a mother to feel the pain and sadness. We're all human..The Almighty God gave us a heart to feel, and a brain to judge. But where are the hearts and brains of those Israelis? Are they all zombies? Oh, perhaps they don't even deserve to be called zombies?! What did all the Muslim children ever do to them, or their country?

I used to be a big fan of Starbucks!! Family and friends quote, "Amira would die without her weekend sip of hazelnut latte"! How painfully true was that!! Honestly, I never took it seriously when most people were busy printing lists of (Israel and American) companies and brands to boycott. One person will not make a difference. At least that's what I thought. How shallow was I? How ignorant was I? HOW STUPID WAS I?!!! Thank God, He opened my eyes, opened my heart at just the right time. My last sip of hazelnut latte was on the 4th day of the attack on Gaza. And I'm trying my very best to stop purchasing products of Pro-Israel. At least now I can cry as much as I want after looking at the pictures in the newspapers and be proud of not contributing to the war faced by those innocent children.

For all my Muslim family of Gaza, all I can do is pray hard that all of your misery will end soon. Praying hard that all the donations reaches to you in any way possible. Be strong... For the ever evil Israel, may you rot in hell!! ALLAHHUAKBAR!! ~XOXOX~

I decided to bring the lil' princess for a night stay at Sheraton Subang. I was pretty tied up with work and couldn't plan any trip elsewhere (out of Kuala Lumpur that is). My babysitter was telling me how every single day Putri would tell her that I was going to bring her for a swim at a hotel. Hhmmm, yes, I got the hint!! =) The day we checked-in, Putri got a cold. Her nose was pinky and then came the fever. I didn't want to spoil her excited-ness, so i 'drug' her with paracetamol and some cough (& flu) mixture. She slept like sleeping beauty after I promised her we would go down to the pool at 5am. Hours later, she woke up, swim, swim, swim, and got ready for dinner with my parents. It was during dinner that she started to become cranky, Her body temperature was rising, and so I and hubby brought her to SJMC. When a baby's body temperature rise up to a certain degrees, the baby has got to be bathe. So, as u can see, it was a pity sight. At the end of the day, Putri went back home with grandma and grandpa, while mom and dad stayed at the hotel and stuffing ourselves with anything we see nice in the room-dining menu =) ~XOXOX~

It's been so long since the last time that I and my hubby spent time together...and baby Putri of course!! Usually, there will always be a plan or something, and when the time comes, we had to cancel it. Either hubby has some appointments (job related), or, I'll have my appointments (which I prefer that you wouldn't ask)! Anyways, last Saturday, we decided to the something..it was already 7pm by then. We think about what are Putri's obsession lately...and voila!! She loves to sing! So we headed to the Red Box Karaoke at Sunway Pyramid. It was indeed, an excellent idea!! The moment we got the microphones, Putri made it clear, that one of 'em is hers, and shall not be taken from her at any cause!! Hahahaha....my daughter was hot!! She definitely 'sang' Umbrella by Rihanna..Ketahuan by Matta Band..and when there was silence, she sang her own verse (where usually there's always the word 'cinta', 'uuuhhhh', and will end it by saying "best tak, mommy?")!! =) Well, that says it all, there will always be a next time for a karaoke session with Dora The Explorer!! ~XOXOX~

One of my pal from primary school got married last friday...Sharizatul Nazira. Warmest congrats to her and hubby Faizal @ Faiz. It was a decent wedding dinner at the Civic Centre in PJ. Though we girlfriends try to make 'the gangs' wedding a must-attend affair, unfortunately some of us still couldn't make it =) but I'm sure they wished they'd been there. Anyways, my babe looked stunning in the striking blue outfit (dah la muka macam anak mat salleh)!! One thing though, she didn't smile when she was walking towards the 'altar'..when I asked why, she simply replied with a giggle.."Mak kita dah pesan tau..naik pelamin, jangan nak gedik-gedik!! Went to support Dina for the Muzik-Muzik ballad category nominations at Sri Pentas 2. She sung gracefully though she was having a rather bad flu & cold few days before, and on that day itself. Went to watch Bila Zoo Ditutup yesterday. A theater show by the Year 2 students of Aswara. I didn't expect much of it, but was hoping my little princess would have fun. She was scared of all the 'animals' outside the hall, too scared to even lay eyes on them and so I had to carry her with my killer heels all the way in!! =) She was excited when the music is played with all the characters singing..Hop on her toes from the seat, and started dancing. She was having her time!! It was also an educating show for her, recognizing which is the monkey, tiger, lion, etc. Anyhow, thanks to my sister Sabrina for taging along, and thanks to Ferdy for inviting and for the tickets of course.. Went to see the crib daddy had bought for me (literally speaking..hehehe).. it's already 75% complete. Somehow I don't really feel like I wanna move to this new place. Don't wanna make new friends, don't wanna meet new neighbours. I'm happy where I am now...though it's not a huge house to live in, I'm very happy.. Dad wants to move in when it's all complete and ready (that's in early 2009), but I insist that we stay where we are now till he end his service with Royal Malaysian Police. At that time too, I was craving for the Kuey Teow at Little Penang (I think it's Little Penang)... As I was having this emotional 'thing' in Facebook while writing captions on 'my' Girls, I decided to buzz up Jihan and Raha if they'd like to tag along. Jihan was in...but yong had some stuff to do. So anyways, we had a good time buka puasa-ing. Lots of catching up, with Jihan especially! Oh that busy woman! We also had fun with Shasha's baby, Nif. It's unfortunate I had to leave Putri behind as she was starting to have fever!! (Her health is kinda going up and down these few weeks). 2!! She's two. A&W Drive-In PJ was the venue this year. As usual, attended by dear family and friends. Honestly, I personally think it was a dull party. Putri's dad wasn't around since the start (as he was at a football tourney!), Putri was scared of the clown I hired. As a result, I had to carry her almost thru out the party. And as a result of that, she kept pulling down my dress that eventually showed off a show to the whole world! Embarrrrassing!! So tell me how can I not be frustrated?! But somehow, I'm still hoping that Putri had fun at her party. So did the rest of the guests.. To all that came that day, thank you so much for dropping by. And thanks for the presents, they were awesome. My sister SABRINA, thanks for being a great assistant and co-organizer for the party. We went to Holiday Villa Subang to spend quality time together doing what Putri love most; swimming! She was actually having a slight fever but after a dose of paracetamol, I decided it was okay to have a splash. We had so much fun. My water baby somehow was scared of the water at first, but after a while, she was enjoying it. My sister Sabrina was our rookie 'photographer' for the day(THANK U DEAREST!).. I just thought I had to capture this moment. It was, a bonding moment of me and my little princess. And I definitely would want her to see those pictures when she's old enough to understand. I'm 25! And yes, I feel old. Celebrated my birthday with a decent family dinner at Chilli's Mid Valley on June 30. Just the five of us. After I had a great meal treat, it was prezzie time! hehehehee.. I kinda felt weird you know. It's like, I felt that I don't need presents from my parents anymore. But birthdays & prezzies are like a tradition to the family! (THANKS DAD!!).. So I tore off the wrapper and YEAY!! I got a persian cat..but not a live one! hahaha.. It was so cute, Putri grabbed it and said it was hers. Okaaayy. But right before that, Mom asked if I could check the cat's collar. Aawwww, there were a sum of cash rolled and placed there. Of course not wanting to be rude, I didn't count it in front of 'em. But let me tell you, I had fun SHOPPING!! Coming to the hubby, earlier at work (as my birthday falls on a Monday), a florist sent me this huge, huge bouquet. It was too heavy, I had two male colleagues to help me carry it to the car so I could bring it home. Then at the dinner, he gave me a card...with another sum of $$$ inside!!! Whoopie!!! Now you know why I went crazy at the malls around town!! Hahahaa..But really, even without the prezzies, I'll definitely be a happy birthday girl. And with a family that makes my heart smile 24/7, I don't care if I'm old!! Cheers!! ~XOXOX~

She's O-N-E!!! Yeay!! My beautiful daughter is now 1 year old!! I had plan the party for so long, even before she could hold the bottle on her own!! No la, that's a lie... But yes, I had plan soon enough to make a great party. From the balloons, deciding on the venue, guest list, everything... So anyways, the party was held at McDonalds in SS15, Subang. Since Putri dont have friends yet, the day was attended by family and friends of me and hubby. But even before that, it was so kelam-kabut..preparing baby's outfit (dress, thights, shoes, bottles, diapers, etc), then i had to go run get helium baloons in PJ...then rushed back to Kelana Jaya to get her cake!!! At that moment, I saw my sister Sabrina's face....(SERIOUS!! she's a good sport..always helping around without complaints..well, she never said any to my face though! hehehe...). Anyways, when i reached McD, my friend Sha was there to help around..tieing up baloons je la pun.. My friend Syed the cameraman was there too. Birthday Girl arrived and kiddies starts to fill up the Party Room. Party started with kids joining in for games...then cake cutting. Oh, Putri was scared to see her own face on the cake!! hahaha...it was really funny. And all the time she was screaming to be with my mom!! She's 'in luv' with nenek (and atuk). So she was giving away party packs while standing on this special chair, that i realized how adorable she was, and still is...very chubby, very healthy. though she's bigger than most 1 year olds, I was proud u can tell! She was indeed having fun with those who came that day. If she's happy, i'm happy you see. It was all worth it!! By the way, we all came home with cars full of gifts (yes, CAR with an S).. Come to think of it, the party was not all about gifts (ehemmm...ehemmm), it was about celebrating the love of my child, my princess. Alhamdulillah. My gift... Months after the wonderful wedding i had on 11.11.05.. Born at University Malaya Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur on August 23, 2006 @ 0400 hrs... Weighting at 3.178kg... After 9 hours af agonizing pain due to contractions, she came screaming her lungs out..(btw, NO EPIDURAL took place on that particular scene!!)... Soaked in blood, her wiggling little body, i almost cried but didnt. And so the nurse took her away to be cleaned up, while mommy's being sewn nicely (and that didn't hurt at all as to what 'THOSE' people was telling me)...When they handed her back to me in her lil' trolley bed, i didnt know how to react. honestly, i didnt know how i should feel... In movies, every mom cries when they see their babies for the first time. But i didnt, and damn right it got me worried. But right that minute, that i got to look at her fair & slightly blushed face, i felt tears!!! it's not those tears u 'made' through acting when you wanna get away from your parents when u got caught clubbing!! It's REAL TEARS...and trust me, the emotions, you'll feel it yourself when you become a mommy... I and the father decided (after deleting hundreds of other options) that our precious princess is best described by the name Azalea Eiman Putri Binti Abdul Aziz... May you be a great person in life & after-life my dear daughter... Insya-Allah. ~XOXOX~
